POPULUS X 'CANAM' - 'CANAM' POPLAR
- Open pollinated seedling of P.x'Walker' selected at the PFRA Shelterbelt Center, Indianhead, Saskatchewan and released jointly with the USDA-ARS station, Mandan, ND. 'Canam', a female clone, was selected for winter hardiness in the Dakotas and Saskatchewan, drought tolerance, and disease resistance. It is susceptible to leaf rust in humid areas east of the Dakotas. Growth 50 to 60 feet in height on favorable sites with a semi-upright form.
