 Hackberry

CELTIS OCCIDENTALIS - HACKBERRY- a medium to large tree with a spreading crown reaching a height of 35-55 feet. Fruit is a small dark berry utilized by wildlife. It is native to the eastern and midwestern United States.

Cultivar: - 'Oahe' Hackberry - a seed propagated selection released by the USDA, Bismarck PMC and the ARS Northern Great Plains Research Laboratory for its increased rate of survival and growth over common hackberry. South Dakota origin.
