SYRINGA RETICULATA - JAPANESE TREE LILAC | Print |

          Japanese Tree Lilac

Syringa reticulata (S. amurensis var. japonica) – Japanese Tree Lilac – an attractive single stem to multi-stemmed non-suckering tree lilac which reaches 15 to 25 feet in height and spread.  Large, showy, creamy white flowers are produced in June followed by tan panicles of seed pods which persist through the winter.  Native to northeast Asia and northern Japan.  Excellent small street, lawn, or patio tree for the Midwest and Plains states, beautiful in a multi-plant grouping or row planting.
