Sorbus aucuparia – Mountain Ash – a small to medium sized tree reaching 25 to 35 feet in height and spread in our area. Grown for its bright orange to red clusters of fruit which are slowly utilized by birds through the winter and spring. A member of the apple family, Mountain ash is susceptible to fireblight and also to sun scald in non-protected planting situations. Native to Europe and Asia. |
