ROSA RUGOSA - RUGOSA ROSE | Print |

Rugosa RoseRosa rugosa – A multi-stemmed, upright growing rose reaching 4 to 6 feet in height and spread.  Foliage somewhat lustrous, dark green, and wrinkled.  Stems prickly, thorny; flowers dark purple to white followed by large, red, rose hips.  Native to northern Asia.  Generally not as drought tolerant as Hedge or Woods rose but widely used in erosion control plantings where the large, attractive, flowers and rose hips are desired. Climatic zone 3.
