| Crataegus phaenopyrum – Washington Hawthorn (climatic zone 4/5) – An upright to rounded small tree reaching 25 to 30 feet in height and spread, thorny. Lustrous green foliage. White flowers in June followed by a heavy set of small, glossy red fruits in September and October which persist through winter. Good wildlife, conservation, and screening plant where adapted. Not for severe cold areas. Native to the lower Midwest to the southeast U.S. |
